For those of you who are going to need a mid-winter pick-me-up, consider joining a group of us escaping to Cape Vidal from 10 to 16 July. It offers both bush - the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park – and a 12 km beach. There is great snorkelling, and a whale-watching tower for spotting pods of bottlenose dolphins and – if we’re in luck – also Humpback whales on their way to breeding grounds off the Mozambique coast. I’ve booked a log cabin for eight at R500 pp/pd, but there is also the possibility of camping (a site for 4 costs R480). Check out the details: http://www.kznwildlife.com/accomodation/resorts/capevidal.html and contact me asap if you are interested in being part of the ESSA group: 071 878 8677 or firstname.lastname@example.org. We'll arrange to share lifts, most probably driving down very early on Sunday 10th and back on Saturday 16th.
